Continuing your Insurance
If you are no longer employed by a participating employer and your benefit is transferred to the Retained Benefit Section your insurance cover will continue subject to certain conditions.
If you cease to be a member of the Fund (other than due to retirement), you may have the option of continuing your insurance at your own expense by taking out a personal policy with the Fund's insurer. This option allows you to obtain the same amount of cover with the Fund's insurer without having to produce evidence of health.
This option is only available for 30 days from the date you cease to be eligible. If you wish to take advantage of this option, you must contact the Fund's office prior to your Member Account being closed or no later than 30 days after that date.
