Cash

Objective

To provide exposure to a diversified portfolio of investment grade cash and cash equivalent securities, providing a total return, before costs and tax, in line with the UBS Australian Bank Bill Index over the short term.

Comparison relative to other options

The Cash option offers the lowest investment returns over the long term of all the options, however it is likely to provide the most stable investment returns without the fluctuations expected with the All Growth, Balanced or Conservative options. This option is structured to protect the capital value of the investment with only a small likelihood of achieving a negative return in any year.

Suitability (risk tolerance)

Generally an investor in this type of option is likely to be looking to protect the capital value of their superannuation and achieve stable returns. They know long term investment returns are likely to be low compared to the other options but they are seeking to protect their investment from the chance of any negative returns in the short term.

Important Note: There is no guarantee that this option will meet its objective or that the value of your superannuation will not decrease as a result of negative returns.
